Thyroid

We will be talking about either hypo or hyper thyroids, which are both a condition of the thyroid being under active or over active. Obviously, the one that’s the most frequent in our western civilized world is the under active thyroid, or hypothyroid, but either way it needs nutrition, and the nutrition can help both.

As most of us know, a number of years ago in the early 1900’s, Iodine was put into our salt because of a condition called goiters, which is the enlargement of that thyroid gland. This is to show us that we had a deficiency in our food supply of Iodine, and of course the Iodine was then gained through the salt. Is this the right way, the only way, the proper way to get the Iodine, or is this the only reason our thyroid is no longer healthy because of the lack of Iodine? The answer is no. Yes, we do need Iodine, yes Iodine is used by the thyroid to regulate the body’s metabolism, but the thyroid has to be healthy in order to make that regulatory process. Unfortunately, in the country we live in our water supply is completely saturated with a substance called fluoride. I know the argument on both sides of it about fluoride, and I’m still not impressed. Fluoride is very devastating to the thyroid, because fluoride from your drinking water will absorb into the thyroid, and it’s a much stronger substance than Iodine, therefore, it stays in the thyroid, and will not come out to let it absorb Iodine. So, if you’ve been consuming large amounts of tap water in the past, you live in an area where your municipality puts fluoride in your drinking water, and/or you use fluoridated toothpaste, then you do have fluoride in your thyroid. That fluoride is stopping or slowing down the flow, and the effects of your normal nutrition in the thyroid including that of Iodine.

First we have to get the fluoride out of the thyroid, and then get some good strong nutrition going back in to get the thyroid functioning properly. We may even be able to move the thyroid from a position of hypo into a normal T-4, which is your storage form of thyroid, and convert it to a T-3 thyroid, and this would give your metabolism a boost. This would in effect make you lose weight, and that would be very important to a whole lot of us, so let’s talk about how to do that. (See page on obesity)

First of all, on cleaning the fluoride out of the thyroid we need to consider how to do that, and we do that with Magnesium. This is over and above what’s in the Complete Body Balance Kit. The Complete Body Balance Kit, has a lot of the nutrition you need to make that thyroid function properly, but over and above what’s in the kit, you need extra Magnesium, 2 ounces a day for a minimum of six weeks. The Magnesium will penetrate the fluoride that’s in the thyroid, liquefy it, and turn it into a Magnesium fluoride. In your diet, if you will eat a large volume of beans, peas, lentils of any sort, and lots of apples or apple sauce, the beans, peas, and lentils, which are considered self hydrating amino acids, will literally attach themselves to the fluoride that’s now been liquefied by the Magnesium. The pectin will then come along out of the apples, and or apple sauce and connect itself to the fiber that’s in the self hydrating amino acid, and it will snatch the fluoride out of the thyroid.

Some good doses of Vitamin C, 2 or 3,000 mg a day is needed here, and some good walking type exercise, a brisk 30 to 45 minute walk, non-stop, 3 times a week would be very beneficial in this situation to get that thyroid cleaned out. Once you get it cleaned out if you want to give it a boost then start taking an angstrom sized Iodine. It would be advisable, a teaspoon, 3 to 4 times a day for a while, and then you can back off of it as things start moving back into their proper position, but getting the thyroid cleaned first is primary.

Some other nutrients that I would recommend to move the thyroid from a T-4, which is storage form of thyroid to a T-3, which is your active form of thyroid is some extra Selenium, a tablespoon a day extra over and above the Complete Body Balance Kit, and a teaspoon a day of Manganese. The Manganese, Selenium, extra Vitamin C, Magnesium, the beans, the apples, and all the things that you’re doing here should put a lot of nutrition in and around that thyroid area, and give you a great chance of overcoming either a hypo, or a hyper thyroid system.

To re-cap some of the things that we’ve talked about here concerning thyroid health, you need the Complete Body Balance Kit, extra Magnesium, Iodine, Selenium, Manganese, and some extra Vitamin C. If you’re looking for the recipe on how to do the heavy metal cleanse it is in the Complete Cleanse Kit.
